We work with Property Development companies both locally and in greater Africa including Swaziland, Congo, Ghana, Gabon, Nigeria, Tanzania and Mozambique. Our vast experience throughout the Continent offers our clients early insights into the potential pitfalls of contracting and developing into Africa.
With over 30 years experience shared in contracting and consulting, we confidently carry the expertise to stand by our designs from start to completion, and beyond. We are people first and then engineers fostering our professional relationships to ensure peace of mind and the forefront of every project.
We respond intuitively to the unique needs of each project and offer custom solutions to design and development. We believe that early collaboration drives and integrated design philosophy and an approach that builds strength-with-strength to achieve excellence.
We specialise in HVAC, Wet, Fire, Sustainable and Green Building consulting, providing mechanical, fire, ESD and project management services to all types of development projects, including maintenance consulting and rational XA modeling competencies. Our first-hand experience in design and supply contracting provides invaluable practical experience from detailed costing to on-site construction management.

Richard Humphrey

Consultant

Richard's twelve years as a specialist design and build contractor and eighteen years as a mechanical consultant in the Built Environment, gives HFW the edge over its competitors.
He was engaged by two corporates to grow their markets and developed mechanical and fire capabilities throughout Africa and Internationally in collaboration with associated internal offices.
Serving as a Technical Director of various companies, his passion for excellence and attention to detail makes him the first and logical choice for clients when looking for innovative, effective, and sustainable solutions in HFW's areas of expertise: HVAC, Fire, Wets and sustainability.

Craig Laing

Engineer

With his Bachelor Engineering in Civil Engineering Honours from the United Kingdom and experience gained since 1998 in corporate structural and civil engineering consulting practices, Craig has specialised in bulk water, sewer and storm water design, hot water generation and water supply, sustainable drainage systems, pump sizing, bulk earthworks modelling and Revit based plumbing designs.
His management and technical experience while working at Arup and Aecom on prestigious international and national projects makes him an invaluable engineer at HFW, offering unique complete wet and civil services.

Deon Nadesen

HVAC & Fire

While working in the HVAC industry as an engineering draughtsman and designer for 19 years, Deon has been studying towards his National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
With his experience gained form large consulting practices focusing on hotels and malls in Dubai, gaining certifications in Energy and SANS 10400 XA modelling to enable green building submissions for commercial and residential buildings has made him a core part of the HFW team and services offered.
At HFW, he is now responsible for the office management, HVAC and Fire consulting as well as thermal and energy modelling.
